Entry fee is included in guided fees.
For your safety, visitors must be escorted by guides upon
entering forest.
Ecotours
We provide chimpanzee tracking and nature walk in Kalinzu
Forest Reserve. Both tour is conducted
by knowledgeable certified guides. They are well trained and very
informative. All of them are local residents so that they could provide
exclusive information about the forest's fauna & flora.Fees are payable in
US dollars or Ugandan Shillings at the time of the rate.We could not
accept credit card for the payment.
Chimpanzee Tracking
This is the best place to track chimpanzees for those people who
are into primates. Since 1993, Japanese primates researchers have been
researching about chimpanzees and they have exclusive information sharing with
NFA ecotourism guides. 20 chimps in one group are habituated the area.

Tour schedule (apploximately 4 hours)
Meet at Kalinzu Forest Eco-tourism centre -
briefing - walk trail - bush walking (depends on the chimpanzees
location) - Maximum 1 hour observation
at Chimpanzees habituation point - go back to the starting point
Important Rule for this activity to protect chimpanzees:
- Only one group (maximum 6 people) is allowed in each morning and afternoon tour.
- Children under 12 years old are not allowed to participate this tour
- No flash photography
- No Smoking
- Sick people are not allowed to enter the forest to avoid disease transmission.
- Keep 10 m distance from the chimpanzee during the observation
- Maximum observation time is 1 hour
Ecotourism guides have rights to stop the tour if tourists broke those rules.
Forest Walk
The nature walk provide you
fascinating forest trees, such as Prunus Africana , which bark is used as
medicinal purpose, fig trees to make bark cloths, Musanga trees which the
fruits are eaten by chimps. You might have chance to encounter particular type
of bird species such as black bee eater and Albertine endemic bird
species. You will also have chance to see primates, such as Blue monkey,
L'hoest monkey and other 4 species.
